The sun was midhigh in the sky, and it was the hottest part of the day. Today was not, however, particularly uncomfortable. The humidity was bearable, and the breeze had picked up, leaving the park pleasantly cool. Despite this, Mirrie kept to the shadows. She sat cross legged beneath a curved tree, it's thick foliage bringing down the temperature by about four degrees.
Mirrie stretched out her arms to either side of her, as if she were meditating. 'Oom,' she thought, snorting muffled laughter through her nose. Her fingers twitched, enticing the little buggies who were crawling about the grass. She was pretty sure pixies emitted some sort of pheromone through their fingertips, though no one had ever officially confirmed it. It attracted insects, particularly grasshoppers. Or so she assumed. Her dark eyes moved back and forth, willing the bugs towards her. Sure enough a little brownish green shape crept towards her, it's movements characteristically jerky. It stepped tentatively into her palm. 'Crunch'. Mirrie's fingers came down on the grasshopper's back, breaking him almost in two. Bits of grasshopper appendage slipped between her fingers and drifted leaf-like to the ground. She shuddered. "You little devils really are disgusting," she muttered, popping it into her mouth without much disgust. Mirrie was an omnivore to the fullest extent of the word.
The pixie sucked her fingers thoughtfully. They really did taste good. Maybe that was what attracted the insects, or perhaps it was just the remnants of the insects themselves. In either case the train of thought had become too philosophical for Mirrie's taste, and she turned her attention to the people on the path before her. A dark gray pittbull passed. It's sad yellow eyes turned towards her, giving her a probing glance. Mirrie just smiled and ripped some grass out of the ground. The cu sith always disturbed her. Next a pair of kids walked by, staring deeply into each other's eyes. One was a human, and the other a pixie. They both looked to be about fourteen. She wondered what the pixie had in mind for his companion. Probably something atrocious. Mirrie smiled to herself. 'Good luck to you, little human.' she thought into the doe-eyed girl's direction.
The girl absent mindedly captured a few more bugs, not paying much attention to what species they were. Her thoughts were elsewhere, mostly on the toaster in her kitchen. Whatever was inside that made the toast pop up was not doing it's job. 'Spring,' she reminded herself. It was probably a spring. How did one fix a spring? Could she replace the coil of metal, or was it more conventional to just get another toaster? 'Do I even like toast?'. Her mind began to drift away from toast entirely, and her eyes took on a glazed expression.
ooc; Eee! Sorry it sucks. I'm like, whoa, tired.

Ivy observed the scene from a nearby tree in horae form, toying with the idea of whether or not to crash Chaux Eleqtrique later that night. If she was going to, should she ask Mirrie along? It might be unusual to see a pixie there, but there wasn't any rule against it. Anyways, the rush that came from pissing off the vampires and humans was worth any chance of getting a high political figure against you. Anyways, in this day and age, if you were a lesser race, all of the political figures were against you anyways, so what did it matter?
Changing into a lesser fairy with iridescent blue wings, Ivy flitted among the branches of her haven to where a human was sitting. Changing back into sprite form as she fell, she landed in the boy's lap, planted a kiss on his lips, and ran as fast as she could, changing back into fairy form as she ran. Reaching the spot where Mirrie was sitting, Ivy landed on her shoulder and murmured, "There's a party at Chaux Eleqtrique tonight that doesn't have our names on the guest list. Isn't that just a crime against all things living?" softly into her ear.

There was a faint weight on Mirrie's shoulder. She stopped midway through bringing a grasshopper up to her mouth, which was open slightly. 'There's a party at Chaux Eleqtrique tonight that doesn't have our names on the guest list' Said the little fairy Ivy softly. 'Isn't that just a crime against all things living?' Mirrie considered it for a moment, snapping off the twitching hind legs of her prey. "It truly is," she replied, casually offering her friend one of the ligaments. She had not been to any night clubs in some time. Her fake id was just collecting dust, as it was. "Sounds great," She tweaked Ivy's wing "Now get off me."
Mirrie glanced down at the sprite. Her form was blury from her perspective, though she was still easy to recognize. 'I wish I could do that,' she thought jealously, always having dreamed of being able to shape shift. Not one of a pixie's abilities. Which reminded her; "Hey, do my fingers taste good to you?" She waved a tapered green digit before Ivy's nose, as if to waft it's alluring scent. As she wriggled her fingers her mind fell back to Chaux Electrique. She couldn't remember if she'd been there, though Mirrie often heard good reviews. Apparently there were some pretty trippy bucket lights in the floor. Maybe she hadn't been there. 'And a party too?' She was less confident in her party-crashing skills than Ivy was, as the sprite could probably just switch to a more accomidating form. Her green skin was particularly inconvenient in such situations.
No matter, Mirrie was a tricky creature either way. She had her ways. "So, what's the occasion? Is today a holiday?" She was, of course, reffering to the reason for a party. The pixie made little effort to keep up with current events. Today could have been Halloween for all she knew.

A tall, blond haired elf strolled across the park's pathway, casually hitting several Keys on his Wrist-computer, raising an eyebrow at something on the screen. He hit a key three times and the screen shifted, revealing news information , playing a vid. From a distance away, it was inaudible, but the elf stopped in his tracks at what was being said. He hit a key that powered off the small device, then allowed his arm to rest at his side as he looked up at the sky. Ethos Then walked to a bench, taking a seat, and seemed to be deep in thought.
(Sorry about crappiness, but There's no one else near him to do a dialogue. He;s thinking about the upcoming war BTW.)

In having her invitation accepted, Ivy needed new entertainment. Looking around, she spotted an elf sitting alone. Giggling to herself, she got up, shifting into an elf with long, bone straight ebony hair as she did. Meandering over to the elf, she proceeded to step on every angel's toe she passed, while tweaking all of the vampire's noses. Pausing for a moment to smooth down her hair, she noticed that the elf was not interacting with anyone around him, which, from her viewpoint, made everything that much more fun.
When she reached where he was sitting, she leaned over his shoulder and asked, "Haven't we met before?" Seductively. Then waited for his reply.

While the many races went about there business in an orderly fashion a strange human boy walked down the path that lead through Central Park. No one stopped to look at him so no one would recognize the blank stare that was plastered on his tanned face. While his body moved fluently it did so automatically. Jack, the boy who had the blank look on his face, was actually sleeping and his body was moving on its own. What was happening right now was his automatic behavior kicking in. About twenty minutes ago the boy had decided to go for a walk. Sadly his narcolepsy kicked in and he had been walking for the last twenty minutes, blowing past the store he had decided to go to about fifteen minutes ago. He would have probably remained asleep if it were not for the fact that one of the angels whose toes had been steeped on had not tossed back his wings and knocked the boy to the ground.
"Huh? Was going on now?" He asked groggily as he rubbed his eyes. The boy's silver eyes glanced around the park slowly. Once the silver orbs landed on the angel that had knocked him down he rubbed the back of his head.
"Watch what your doing!" The angel barked as it folded it's wings against it's back and walked off.
"No need to get your feathers in a bunch!" Jack called after him. "Jeez the least he could've done was help me up. He's the one that knocked me over." The raven haired boy scowled as he dusted off his bottom and allowed himself one more glance around the park. "Dammit... I feel asleep again." He said as he lifted up his hand and placed it against his face. This was the second time this week that he had done this. Oh well now that I'm here I might as well enjoy it. Mom and Dad won't be back home until about one anyway. He thought as he made his way over to a tree. Several trees down he saw what he knew to be a pixie, an elf, and something that looked like an elf. He thought about heading over to them but he decided against it, afraid of being rejected by them.

Mirrie sighed as her friend flitted away, shifting into a dark haired elf. Seduction was not one of Mirrie's pastimes. But the sprite had knocked all the pensiveness out of her, and she too needed something else to do. Her dark eyes scanned the scene before her, falling upon an angel snap a few harsh words at a human boy. He didn't look much older than herself, if at all. With a spring of her ankles Mirrie stood up and patted a few stray blades of grass from her jeans.
"Wow," she said, casually glancing over her shoulder as she neared the human teenager. "What a jerkoff. You alright?" she pinched the small amount of grasshopper she had left between two fingers, offering what Ivy had rejected. She was fairly certain that humans were disgusted by such eating habits, but the shock factor always did well for Mirrie. Or at least for her intentions.
'Speaking of intentions,' she thought, peering at Ivy through the corner of her eye. Another great skill. As her eyes were completely iris, no one could ever tell what she was really looking at. It had worked wonders for her in grade school. 'The poor man,' she added, bringing her attention back to the boy.

Jack watched as the pixie approached him. He could not help but let out a small laugh at her words. "I know right." He said as he placed his hands into his pockets. It seemed he didn't have to worry about walking over to the group and making friends. He looked over the girl and then smiled when he realized that she was pretty close to his age. It was only as he looked over her that he noticed that she was holding out a grasshopper to him. He blinked at it a few times and then remembered the time his mother had taken him to dinner with her pixie friends. His mother seemed to be friends with a member of every race and because of that she went to a lot of their parties or get-togethers.
In fact Jack didn't find it all that strange to be offered a bug to eat. During the last dinner he had attended in Chicago with his mother it had been at a Pixie's home. I don't wanna be rude.He thought to himself as he reached out and grasped the green bug in his hands. It wasn't that big of a piece so he was sure he could choke it down. He inserted the bug into his mouth and chewed it. Instantly he regretted it and attempted to force him self into "auto-mode". He swallowed the bug and then made a face.
"It wasn't so bad." He said as he moved his mouth, trying to force the taste out. He looked at the Pixie and then over at the other pair of non-humans that he had seen stop on the side of the path. They seemed to be speaking now, or at least only one of them had.

Mirrie brightened. Had she been testing him, he would have passed. Though he didn't seem to enjoy her gift, at least he was man enough to take it. "Not so bad?" she laughed. He looked like he may wretch. "Well, you win," without any further explanation she added "My name is Mirrie, by the way. Call me Mir." She extended her hand, which was a gesuture she could often not summon enough respect to use.
She looked the human over. She appreciated the piercings, and the choppy hairstyle. She couldn't quite place his style. 'Emo' came to mind, but that wasn't it. Mirrie supposed she had missed whatever they were calling this look. In any case she liked it.
The not-emo-kid glanced over at Ivy and her object of amusment. She wrinkled her nose, inwardly commenting on how... Whatever Ivy was. Disturbing. Unnerving. She stuck her tongue out at the sprite, hoping she would notice.

As Ivy waited for her newest victim's reply to her bait, she noticed Mirrie doing something that could only be considered flirting with a "scene" human who had passed her way. If Ivy's catch didn't rise to the bait soon enough, she might HAVE to go and see what Mirrie was truly up to, because SURELY Mirrie was just planning a trick on the boy, wasn't she?
Shaking the thought from her head, Ivy turned back to the closest form of entertainment, the elf. Leaning farther forward so that the her shirt was loosened, and someone from the right vantage point could look down just far enough to be attractive, and not far enough to be very *friendly* personty. Leaning over his shoulder, she looked at his face earnestly. She then rearranged herself so that her breasts just brushed his cheek when one of them moved, hoping to get SOME sort of reaction out of him.

After a bit of time Jack had gotten most of the taste out of his mouth. I don't remember grasshoppers tasting so bad.He thought to himself as he stopped moving his mouth around. His thoughts about his past experiences with bugs were pushed aside after he was told that he had won. He tossed that thought out as well and decided that the girl was just acting strange. "It's a pleasure to meet you Mir." He said as he reached out his hand and wrapped it around hers.
"My name's Jack." He added before retracting his hand and shoving then shoving both of them into his pockets. It was hard to tell where Mir was looking but the strange but had a feeling that he was being looked over. He looked back at the other elf and the non-human girl that he had seen earlier. "Friends of yours?" He asked. He didn't think that it seemed rude to ask that question but he had asked it to other species before and they had taken offense to it.
He usually got a response along the lines of, "Just cus I ain't human don't mean that I hang out with all the other freaks out there." Yeah, it was usually something like that most of the time. He hoped that he hadn't already screwed up this chance at friendship by asking such a simple question.

"The pleasure is mine," she grinned "Jack." She had not met anyone so interesting as this in quite some time, and she was practically elated. It was possible that she was at the fringes of a friendship. Though he seemed to have been a bit baffled by her 'winning' statement, which she had not actually meant anything by, he didn't seem to be terrified of her, a reaction she occasionally got from her "gifts" and other quirks.
Jack looked over at Ivy, and Mirrie felt a bit guilty. She had not meant to make him feel ignored. She cleared her throat daintily "Friends? Well, the elf, the girl, is an... Acquaintance. Ivy." She had no intentions of scaring off the human with the prospect of dealing with Ivy. Mirrie was often scared a bit by it herself.
Though she wasn't particularly worried about the sprite. She seemed to be handling her own situation quite... Well. 'Uniquely,' the pixie reminded herself. Ivy was just unique.

Ivy huffed and flounced away, leaving her victim where he was, she could get back to him later if he was interesting. Right now she had to see what her "darling" roommate was up to. "Oh Mirrie, dear!" She hollered when she was close enough. "How are you? Aren't you going to introduce me?"
Slipping behind a tree so as not to upset the boy Mirrie was standing with, Ivy quickly shifted to her normal form as a sprite. Once she was back in her normal form she ran through a group of children and stole someone's ice cream cone. "Ew, cotton candy." she remarked as she walked up to them licking the cone. "Horrid flavor, don't you think Mir?"
Not waiting for an answer, Ivy walked up to Jack and shook his hand enthusiastically. "I'm Ivy, nice to meet you. I just happen to be Mirrie's roommate!" and waited for his reply.

The long haired boy remained silent as he watched the other woman approach him and Mir. It wasn't that he was shy or afraid of her he was just completely focused on trying to figure out her race. His "OCD" had kicked in once he had laid eye on her and it was beginning to become frustrating to Jack. He blinked once the woman took on what Jack assumed to be her true form. Once again his mother's obsession with other races had payed off. "She's a sprite." He mumbled as he ruffled the hair on the back of his head with his right hand.
When the woman stopped in front of them now holding an ice cream cone Jack tilted his head to the side wondering where exactly she had gotten it. His silver eyes lifted up and darted around the park and his hands went to his pockets, trying to find a small amount of cash so he could get his own. Suddenly his hand was pried away from his pocket and was being shook by the sprite girl.
"I'm Ivy, nice to meet you. I just happen to be Mirrie's roommate!"
"Hello Ivy. My name is Jack." The boy said as he returned the shake, instead of allowing his arm to flop around. "So your Mir's roomate?" He asked as one of his eyebrows lifted up and he turned his gaze toward Mir. It was obvious that he had figured out that she was more than acquaintances with Ivy and the little white lie that she had told him really didn't bother him.

"Yes, that would be me." Ivy replied. "I hope you don't mind me coming over and introducing myself, my entertainment for the day was boring." She grinned mischievously. "Don't worry though, I won't use you as entertainment," she said, her brow furrowing. She really wasn't a very *friendly* person, she just liked to piss off other races sometimes. And the other races usually deserved to be pissed off, she heard all the stories. A thought just occurred that maybe Mirrie and Jack wanted to be alone. she looked over at Mirrie to see her expression.
